Image Compositing
For many years I've made backgrounds for songs in rhythm games. They mostly consist of image compositing, or vector graphics made from scratch, but recently I've also started incorporating AI image generation into it for when I need illustrations that are free to use. The generated images are rarely ready to use after being made, so I do a lot of adjustments to them in Photoshop. These backgrounds try to capture the same mood and emotions you'd feel while listening to the song.
Sometimes I like to use asian characters if the song has metadata with them, since the symbols are incredible to use as typographic elements. Under "Other Images" below, there's one example of using them.
The image below for "Open Your Eyes" consists of multiple images combined to create a new composition. The original images can be seen below.
